ADVOCATE SOUTH SUBURBAN HOSPITAL - MEPS & PATIENT ROOM UPGRADE

Ujamaa Construction (“UJAMAA”) provided the general construction services for the heavy mechanical, electrical, sprinkler and plumbing infrastructure improvements at Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, Illinois.

The scope of this assignment included the installation of new heat pumps, heat exchanger, condensate pumps and all of the associated piping and insulation, air handling unit 4 and all associated piping and ductwork to increase the capacity of the existing mechanical systems.

UJAMAA also coordinated the replacement of the transformer and switchgear to increase this healthcare facility’s electrical capacity. The new building automation system was completed by Interactive Solutions Control.

As a result of the above work, UJAMAA was provided a change order to provide the general construction services for the 69,000 Sq Ft “ACS-4” project at Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, Illinois. The scope of this additional work included the comprehensive renovation of 87 patient rooms on floors two, three and four. The upgrades include new flooring, ceiling, fixtures, bathrooms, wardrobe cabinets, finishes and nurse call station technology. In addition, UJAMAA replaced Surgery Theater lighting as well.
