JOB TITLE: Project Engineer – Concrete Structural Architecture
JOB DESCRIPTION: Collaborate and communicate effectively with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams. Support project planning, scheduling, and close-out activities. Assist the superintendent(s) in managing subcontractors and daily field operations. Track labor, costs, and equipment needs throughout the project lifecycle. Participate in design development and value engineering to optimize time and cost. Help maintain project schedule and budget, ensuring successful project delivery. Enforce contractor safety compliance and OSHA standards on job site. Manage submittals, change orders, and contract compliance processes. Foster a collaborative and team-focused project environment. Provide timely pricing
and documentation for scope changes. Ensure compliance with project quality standards. Facilitate pre-construction meetings to address quality requirements. Track and verify correction of construction deficiencies. Assist in monitoring subcontractor work for accuracy and quality. Communicate and negotiate effectively with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and team members. Contribute to project scheduling and closeout processes. Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and operations teams to provide accurate financial and budget analyses during construction. Develop labor estimates, manage vendor and contractor bids, and present estimates to management and stakeholders. Create conceptual estimates and scopes of work, review with subcontractors, and assist in their selection. Present final estimates/change management to clients, clearly conveying project value. Mentor junior staff. Maintain subcontractor/vendor lists and historical pricing data. Actively contribute to the project schedule and close-out process. Ensure contractor compliance of safety/OSHA requirements are met. Hold weekly subcontractor check-in meetings. Start the first hour of the day on the field, as schedule allows. Provide updates and update constraints in the engineering meeting. Weekly check-in with subcontractors. Will look at Engineering Trade Partner Tracker, CSA Internal Allowance Tracker, and Constraint Log. Will be responsible for assisting a Project Manager and Superintendent on a construction management project both in the office and on the project site. Assist with scheduling preparation, pre-planning and resource forecasting for engineering and other technical activities relating to the project. Manages the project team resources and overall quality control of the work to ensure projects are completed according to project plans and specifications.
REQUIREMENTS: Master’s in Science, Engineering or related field of study.
