JOB TITLE: Project Engineer
JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for professional-level engineering coordination, technical analysis, and construction execution oversight for large-scale hyperscale data center projects for Google. The role supports two concurrent ground-up data center builds involving complex structural, civil, and mission-critical MEP systems. Review and interpret structural, civil, architectural, and MEP construction drawings. Identify design inconsistencies and prepare RFIs for engineering clarification. Coordinate BIM-based clash detection between trades. Analyze constructability challenges and propose technical solutions for field implementation. Interface directly with design consultants and subcontractors to resolve discrepancies. Coordinate installation of: Electrical distribution systems (switchgear, UPS, generators), Mechanical cooling systems (chillers, CRAH units, cooling towers), Fire protection and life safety systems. Track redundancy requirements (N+1 configurations). Support commissioning activities and integrated systems testing. Monitor compliance with owner technical standards and reliability requirements. Assist in maintaining CPM schedules using Primavera P6. Perform schedule updates and analyze impacts of design changes. Track long-lead equipment procurement and delivery. Review subcontractor pay applications and validate percent complete. Assist in cost forecasting and change order evaluation. Coordinate multiple subcontractors including civil, structural steel, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing trades. Conduct field inspections to verify compliance with drawings and specifications. Document daily reports and track issue resolution. Lead trade coordination meetings and manage action items. Implement quality control processes for structural concrete, utilities, and MEP installations. Track punch list items and corrective actions. Ensure OSHA compliance and company safety standards. Coordinate inspections with local authorities. Maintain RFIs, submittals, change logs, and project documentation. Prepare weekly progress summaries for project management. Assist in preparation of closeout documentation and as-built drawings. Exercises professional judgment in resolving technical coordination issues. Supports decision-making affecting schedule and cost performance. Interfaces directly with subcontractors and design professionals. Contributes to execution of high-value, mission-critical infrastructure projects. Software: Bluebeam, Navisworks, Clearstory, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Autodesk Bim 360, Revit, and Primavera P6.
REQUIREMENTS: Master’s in Science, Construction and facilities engineering, or related field of study.
