We’ve worked on over 1,000 projects throughout our time in the Midwest and Southeast, with each project having unique parameters, challenges, and solutions associated with them.
Our Approach
Our approach to every project is simple: we get the job done safely, on budget, and on time. But that’s not all. Our ability to do our work comes from a foundation rooted in diversity and community outreach.
A healthy tree needs strong roots—UJAMAA’s roots can be seen all over the Midwest and Southeast regions. The work we deliver comes from a collaborative, fully integrated work environment. Our internal team works seamlessly with vendors and subcontractors for a smooth customer experience.
Both on and off the construction site, we put in the work to support our clients and the larger community. UJAMAA Construction supports foundations, charities, and educational initiatives with volunteer efforts, resources, and monetary donations.

What Sets UJAMAA Construction Apart
What makes us unique at UJAMAA can be found right in our name. “UJAMAA” is a Kiswahili term for the concept of unity and people supporting each other. This not only affects how we work but our entire outlook on the work we do. With each project, we want to truly impact people and leave areas better than when we arrived. To see lives and communities improve with a new hospital or library is a gift that keeps on giving.
To remain true to this rich concept, we foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and trust internally and externally. We think holistically, meaning we see the whole picture when we build. Technical know-how, diverse staff, and a vision for safe and innovative construction are what make us a dominant force in the spaces we inhabit.
