BUILD CHICAGO
The BUILD Chicago project includes the restoration of an existing 10,763 SF one story building and the construction of a new 38,817 SF three-story addition on a 2 ½ acre site in the City’s Austin neighborhood.
The project is located at 5100 W. Harrison Street. The Owner is BUILD, a non-profit organization that has helped ten of thousands of vulnerable youth in Chicago escape gangs, resist violence, and become positive community leaders by engaging young people as they face obstacles and traumatic environments by surrounding them with the care and opportunity they need to succeed. The improvements to the BUILD campus include a restorative justice court, training kitchen and café, gymnasium and elevated running track, fitness center, youth center lounge, mental health center, game room, technology center, learning lab, staff work center, rooftop terraces, conference rooms, staff kitchen, STEAM education center, music and media center, makers lab, art studio, STEAM performance room, woodshop as well as outdoor organic learning center, play fields, living fence, and gardens.
