LATHROP HOMES - PHASE 1A
UJAMAA Construction (“UJAMAA”) participated in the renovation of the historical Lathrop Homes community. UJAMAA was one member of a three-company team selected to provide construction services for the renovation of fifteen historical buildings.
The project included an 18- month construction schedule to complete $131 million in construction services. Substantial Completion was achieved by the end of April 2019. The project also includes a four-phase schedule of turnovers. Tenants began moving in to the facility in November of 2018 with full occupancy completed in June of 2019.
The Project consisted of the complete interior demolition and reconstruction of approximately 428,191 Sq Ft and 360 Units. These renovations included build-out of a completely new floor plan for each of 15 historic buildings, including an innovative VRF heating and cooling system. In addition to the interior renovations was the reconstruction of the Lathrop Homes campus, including landscaping improvements to two playgrounds, a boat launch, and a pedestrian bridge.
