OBAMA PRESIDENTIAL CENTER
Ujamaa Construction (“UJAMAA”) is honored to be part of the construction team for The Obama Presidential Center. The Obama Presidential Center (OPC) is composed of five structures (Tower, Forum, Library, Parking Garage, and Athletic Center.
The OPC will be located on nineteen (19) acres in historic Jackson Park on the Southside of Chicago. The Construction team is led by Lakeside Alliance—a minority Joint Venture that has controlling interest in the project. This has never been done on a project of this significance and magnitude in Chicago.
OPC will feature a world-class museum that chronicles President and Mrs. Obama’s leadership while calling hundreds of thousands of visitors to service. It will also provide our neighbors with a gathering space for celebrations, enriching its site in Jackson Park with new gardens for them to enjoy, an imaginative new playground for their children to explore, and scenic paths for early morning jogs or afternoon strolls.
