UCMC - GILBERT LAB RENOVATION
Being one of the premier research hospitals in the US, the University of Chicago Medical Center is constantly evolving to stay on the cutting edge of medical research. In 2017, UJAMAA Construction (“UJAMAA”) was tasked with the Gilbert Lab Renovation for the University of Chicago Medical Center.
This renovation was to provide the hospital with a fully functional research lab to continue their innovation within the healthcare field.
The project scope included the installation of a new HVAC system, electrical system, as well as plumbing. The new MEP systems scope was coupled with full interior finishes including flooring, painting, IDEA paint, millwork, and ceilings. The scope was executed within a 12 week window, including inspections from the City of Chicago.
Upon completion, the end user was provided with a fully functional research lab to continue to push the boundaries of healthcare innovation.
