PEOPLES GAS - SECURITY UPGRADES
Ujamaa Construction (“UJAMAA”) developed the Design-Build security upgrades to several of Peoples Gas/North Shore Gas’s facilities. The new security upgrades included updating cameras, gates, and operators, fence repairs, concrete, asphalt paving, doors and hardware, electrical, and carpentry work.
This project was executed in two phases, each with a 3-month construction window. Substantial completion was achieved on time for both phases resulting in a smooth and seamless transition.
Working under high power electrical lines and in an industrial environment, safety is the main priority. UJAMAA started these project by drafting a project specific safety plan and executing it during the project. Lunchbox safety meetings and weekly check-in led to a successful project with no safety incidents.
