UJAMAA Sponsors New Silver Room Block Party Design Pavilion 2022

Date

The UJAMAA team had a ball this past weekend as sponsors of the inaugural Design Pavilion for the Silver Room Block Party. We were able to engage with the community and tell them about how we use social responsibility within the world of construction to create a long last impact as well as help champion some of the great designers and artists in the city. Of course, we had to have some fun as well and catch a couple performances. The team does include a few house heads and steppers. It was a great experience and we can’t wait for the next one.

A lot of the time, fun for the UJAMAA team involves volunteering and community engagement. We are a socially responsible company that truly lives by those values. It was amazing telling people about the great projects UJAMAA is working on in various communities as well as gather feedback from everyone. Our activation called for the public to engage with questions of what social responsibility is and how it can have a long last impact as well as the role of construction and architecture in our world. Feedback was amazing as everyone hold social responsibility in as high regard as we do.

It was great engaging with so many amazing designers and artists. Our strategic partners alt_ had a great installation right next to ours and engaged with our activation. Faheem Majeed and the Floating Museum showcased a 25 ft inflatable sculpture honoring the history of Chicago. There were also so many local artists showing working. It was truly inspirational.

It is always great to bond with coworkers outside of the office. In an industry like construction where at times professionals end up working ten hour days on challenging projects, its great to get out of the office or off site and have a good time. The Silver Room Block Party was the perfect event to give the team a chance to lay back and have fun. The team was able to catch some amazing performances like Isaiah Collier and the Chosen Few, Ron Trent, and so many more.

Overall, it was an amazing experience and we can’t wait to return next year.
